It has been forever since we got the chair that came with out house upholstered, but I am finally getting around to the grand unveiling.
Thankfully, I got my local photographer a/k/a B on the job. He took many wonderful photos of all of the furniture I am supposed to catch you up on here. You can thank him for the next couple of posts.
Let's start with The Chair. Remember The Chair? The one the former owners left behind that was all chewed up and ugly? The one I said had good bones? Here is a picture of it in its original state to refresh your recollection:
Good lines. All chewed up. |
Look at it now in its magnificent glory:
Good lines. Gorgeous fabric. So pretty. |
The people that upholstered it, fell in love with as did I. I think this was a wise piece to keep. Now, you can even sit in it without thinking your ribs will be cut by an arm.
Ooohh... |
Ahhh.... |
Posting these pictures makes me excited to get the other New Chair going. I will have to get B on that!
5 important things being said:
You and B. are so good at finding beautiful "Bones" - I would steal this from you in a minute!
That is one good looking chair! I've never had anything reupholstered...but wanted to a million times!
I was thinking it didn't look all that bad before you started. But after it's been reupholstered, it really looks so much better!
My house's former owners didn't really leave any furniture behind, but a good friend gave me her old, ugly furniture as a housewarming gift. I was not pleased! But I didn't want to be rude, so I accepted it politely and unfortch, it's still sitting in my living room. She, on the other hand, has much newer and nicer furniture now.
Ohhh, I have sat in that chair and never realized that it was "that" chair! Amazing!!!!
Mom B - we make a good team. That is why we are in love ;)
Cindy - Thanks! I technically have never done it either. Does it count if you paid someone else to do it?
sprinkles - It didn't look bad, just worn and you probably couldnt see the chewed material from the prior owner's dog. That was the issue. I actually cannot believe I sat on it as long as I did. It must have had germs. Also, old unwanted furniture is a horrible housewarming gift. What the heck?
Jennifer - we fooled you!! Maybe I will scotchguard it or something before the annual holiday party so it can make its official debut.
